And yet another German Shepherd mix found himself in a watery fix. The story goes that the dog got trapped on a breakaway icefloe on a river in Poland and drifted helplessly to sea as initial rescue attempts failed. People feared the dog was lost forever when there was no sighting of him for days.
But luck and some special Doggie Angels were definitely on his side as he managed to survive for four days adrift on the Baltic Sea, utterly helpless and alone.
And finally, a research team on the ship Baltica spotted him and quickly came to his aid. He looked so weak he would’ve surely died of exposure in mere hours had the crew not rescued him. Here’s the video:
The dog, now named Baltic, has recovered and remains in good condition. No one has claimed him, much to the relief of the captain and crew who have fallen in love with the dog, and they have officially adopted him as their ship’s official mascot.
